Minkisi
Digital art based on magical objects called « Minkisi » (plural) « Nkisi » (singular) from the Bakongo people. These objects contain a force related to the spirits of a family’s ancestors or a deity. Among the Kongo, the Nganga (sorcerer) performed rituals by activating a spiritual force with a Nkisi. Other objects from Ewe/Fon people can also be seen here, including a divination sculpture with a head emerging and statuettes of Mami Dan (Mami Wata).
