Shell Roar
Last night was a shell
swallowing sleep
in the sound of reef
dreams sheltered
in waves roaring
across barriers
to refuge souls
with the promise
of stars risen from the dust
of our civilisation
pulverised
into iridescent phosphour
traveling over seas
oceans are possible
when the moon shines
wild on us and the wind
carries us, feathered across
this earth and sky, we walk swim fly
and fall awake
cocooned and free
in the nightshell reefroar of tomorrow’s morning.
